| The adaptive education for college freshmen in Japan has gone through the initial period of orientation，the development period of content expansion，and the universal period of quantitative expansion. It is currently in the period of quality improvement. This paper analyses its developmental stages and the status quo，and expounds on its functions and characteristics，hoping to provide reference for the adaptive education for college freshmen in China. |
