| Abstract: |
| Tu Youyou’s immortal achievement that has maken scientific history is a miracle born of the convergence of three factors. First，a rare historical opportunity：the dual practical demands of the Vietnam War and domestic anti-malarial efforts in China，coupled with the theoretical guidance of integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Second，outstanding talent and personality：Tu Youyou’s intellectual command of both Chinese and Western pharmacology，her broad and agile innovative thinking，and her forthright，tenacious，and noble character. Third，powerful institutional operation：the“Project 523“”—a nationwide mobilization that concentrated quality scientific and technological resources—which，with keen discernment，selected Tu Youyou and entrusted her with a critical mission. Tu Youyou’s enduring achievements，noble character，and arduous scientific journey provide valuable inspiration for the development of today’s young high-caliber talent. |
