| CIT有句著名格言，说别人没说过的话，做别人没做过的事。要说别人没说过的，做别人没做过的，前提是想过别人没想过的事项或问题。那个“别人”还应当包括从前的自己。CIT格言反映了CIT看重创造。我们在课堂教学、学术讲座甚至日常交流中的幽默和诙谐，其实质也是创造。原创不同于一般创造，是另辟蹊径,是在一个崭新领域的开创。此外，发明与发现也有差别。中国古代科学多系发明，不属于发现性质的贡献，可能与我们的文化传统有关。 |
| Abstract: |
| A CIT maxim says that one should say what others have not said and do what others have not done. The prerequisite of doing this is that one should think about the matters or problems others have not thought about. “Others” should include oneself in the past. This CIT maxim reflects that CIT values creation. Humorous and witty remarks in our classroom teaching, academic lectures or even in everyday communications are creation in essence. Origination differs from general creation in that it refers to blazing another trail and it is to open up in a brand new field. Besides, there is a difference between invention and discovery. Many inventions in science of ancient China do not belong to the contributions as discoveries. Probably it has something to do with our cultural traditions. |
